Principal's Message

Dear Wakaw School Community,

Welcome back to another exciting school year at Wakaw School. I hope this letter finds you well-rested and eager to dive into the opportunities that the new year brings. With great enthusiasm, I extend a warm school welcome to our students, families, teachers, staff, and community businesses as we embark on what promises to be an incredible year together. As we start this school year, I want to reflect on the values that make our school exceptional.

We are excited to announce a brand-new administrative team. Please help me welcome Mr. Dean Ewen as our vice principal. Mr. Ewen and I are dedicated to fostering a learning environment that is both nurturing and challenging. Our mission remains to support every student's academic, social, and emotional growth and prepare them for success in and out of the classroom. This year, we have several exciting initiatives and programs planned.

We are introducing new curriculums in High School, implementing additional supports to help students thrive, partnering with Metis Nation to offer Michif early learning programming, and reimagining the way our school approaches inclusivity. Our dedicated staff, who have been working diligently over the summer, are committed to ensuring that our school is ready for our Warriors. Their dedication should reassure you of our commitment to your child's education.

I encourage you to get involved in the abundant things that will take place this year. Your participation and support are crucial in creating the type of educational environment that Mr. Ewen and I envision. Our 24/25 school theme, We are ALL Warriors, rings true for any community member. We are committed to keeping you informed about school activities, important dates, and your child's progress.
