Principal's Message
Dear Wakaw School Community,
Welcome back to a brand-new school year at Wakaw School! I hope your summer was filled with rest, laughter, and time well spent with family and friends. We are thrilled to open our doors once again and to begin a year that promises to be filled with growth, opportunity, and connection.
This summer brought exciting changes to our building, with many classrooms and spaces undergoing renovations. These improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to creating a safe, modern, and inspiring environment for our students to learn and thrive. Walking through our halls, you can feel the fresh energy that comes with these changes, and we are eager to see the positive impact they will have on teaching and learning.
Our school theme for the 2025–2026 year is “Every Child by Name, by Need.” This phrase speaks to the heart of our mission: ensuring that every student is known, valued, and supported as a unique individual. Our dedicated staff are committed to fostering strong relationships, recognizing each child’s strengths, and providing the right supports to help every learner succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
We look forward to building on our strong partnership with families and the wider community. Your involvement and support make all the difference in shaping a school culture that is welcoming, inclusive, and full of opportunity. Whether through school events, volunteer opportunities, or simply staying engaged with your child’s learning, we deeply value your role in the Wakaw School family.
As we launch into this new school year, let us embrace it with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a shared dedication to student success. Together, we can make 2025–2026 a year of meaningful connections, personal growth, and lasting memories for every one of our students.
Thank you for your trust, support, and partnership. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead at Wakaw School!
Yours in Education,
Mr. P. Winand, B.Ed., M.Ed.
