Senior Golf
This year's Senior Golf team consisted of Will Standish, Manny Burechailo, Micah Green, Sam Ward, and Makenna Hackl. The Senior Golf pre-districts were held at Humboldt Golf Club, featuring a 9-hole qualifier in which the top 12 male and female golfers advanced. Our team performed competitively, with several players narrowly missing the cut for advancement. However, Will and Makenna successfully advanced to the districts in Wynyard. The district competition was an 18-hole event held on a beautiful day, and both Makenna and Will represented Wakaw School admirably, finishing in 7th and 18th place, respectively. Overall, it was a fantastic season, and we are excited to see the largest number of senior golfers in years, all of whom will be eligible to participate again next year.
Junior Golf
This year's Junior Golf team included Kaleb Romanchuk, Trigg Romanchuk, and Zak Markowski. The Pre-Districts took place at Humboldt Golf Club, where our golfers showcased their skills competitively. Kaleb finished in 6th place and successfully advanced to the next round, while Zak and Trigg narrowly missed the opportunity to advance to the districts. The following week, districts were hosted at Watson. Kaleb once again performed well, securing 6th place overall in the district competition. It has been a strong year for our team, and we are excited about the progress our golf program has made over the past few years.
